How Many of You Hate Your AI's or Maxpects?

if that's ultimately your concern, then the solution is easy and well documented- turn them down and acclimate your coral over time to increased intensity. Hundreds of posts on this subject and there is nothing inherint to AI or Maxspect that makes them any different to any LEDs in that respect.

Yep, that's exactly what I've heard, and i'm glad no one has posted problems so far. And I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, I didn't mean to single out AI and Maxspect as bad brands that vary in quality, but I found these to be the best brands in LED. So I just thought that these brands would give me the best chance of success.

And I notice almost all reviews in on AI's when I myself was thinking of purchasing Maxspect.

So, any reviews in Maxspect, good or bad?

I will chime in here. Last year I bought two of the AI Sol Whites right after they came out for a 60 gallon 24" cube. These are the 2:1 white:blue ratio modules. Had no idea the Sol Blues would follow in a few months. I could not stand the rendition. To get anywhere near a 14K rendition, I had to turn the whites down to 30% and the blue up to 100%. Made my corals look bad, color wise. I sold the units after 6 weeks and went back to my Radium 250 watt Halide.

That being said, the AI Units were well built and performed flawlesly. Lesson learned, I am a 20K rendition guy and the 2:1 white:blue LED ratio was not right for me. If you are a 10K guy have at it.

I have watched the AI Sol Blue Units since they came out with 2:1 blue:white ratio and the addition of the royal blue LED, and I just bought 9 AI Sol Blues for my 300 gallon SPS reef tank. I love these. The rendition is spot on for a 20K guy.

If I had known I'd have waited for the Sol Blues. You couldn't pay me to buy the Sol Whites because of the blue rendition I prefer in my Reef lighting. The Sol Whites are just too white for my taste.
