Im looking for some advice. I am in the final stages of setting up my new 240g. I am down to the plumbing part really. So here is my plan. I am goint to run a Dart as the return pump. My intention is to run it through a manifold and branching off to different items. I will have 1.5" pipe coming out to a height of approx. 32" from there it will 90 and reduce down to 1", it will run approx 5' through a manifold consisting of t's. I have 10 t's in a row but will only using 7 of the ports. The idea is I will feed my misc. equip off of the t's. At the end of the run it would go through a UV, then trough the chiller and finally exit into the tank. All of the t's are controlled by gate valves to limit the flow to the items they are feeding.
My goal in this is to reduce the number of pumps needed to run the system. I will have one more pump feeding the skimmer. I will also have three VorTech pumps for internal circulation. I am also thinking that keeping a spare Dart on hand would probably be a wise idea.
Please share your thoughts on my ideas.
Thanks,
Shawn
