As many of you know I have the Hammerhead pump.

Should I "T" off the return to two returns or more?

Again should be pushing 3000-4000 gph back to the tank.

since I'm running a 1.5" return once I "T" it off should I down size the pipe to 1" coming back into the tank?

Sorry for all the question.. Time is getting near and want to make sure everything is right.

I'm sorry I haven't followed along that well. Are you open topped or in the wall again? If you can hide it, take it back and do a manifold above the water line. That will also free up all bulkhead's for more drains, etc It's just a rectangle of pvc pipe with T's in it. On those t's you can do whatever or add those different attachments. I just added angles or plugs with a hole drilled in them.

Lonnie,

I would run as large a pipe as you feel comfortable with until you need to downsize it . The larger the pipe the less friction.

I would run 2" from the pump ( or convert to 2" as soon as possible after ) and all of the way through your return system until 6" or so from where it will be entering the tank and then use whatever you like.

I had thought about using 2 of these one on top of the other then the top one capped. That would give me 4 out puts with out putting a "T" in flow?

What do you think?

unless those 3 way Ys are "overworked" I think you will find that most of the water uses one and not the other

That is what I was thinking and I don't want to have to use a bunch of Ball Valves

Lonnie I used 1 1/2 up to the manifold and 1 inch after I used all the ball valves so I could control all the diff lines.

At first I was like all the ball valves are open so I guess I don't need them.. But I don't think in that pic your tank was running yet was it?

In the first one it was but I had to kick them all back to stop micro bubbles. If you and the gang want to you can come out and see it. I now have my chiller hooked up also, I wish I would have used spa flex insteed of the hard plumbing.

Its a 36-48-30 tall sump. I had it made that tall because the hammer head pulls so hard I would get a vortex in the stock tank and those sumps cost so I didnt want the same problem.
