How much can fish hurt themselves

I've had 2 clownfish in qt for the last month, one has never shown an kind of blemish the other had 2 spots show up on either side about the same pattern to each side. I had added a hermit the day before looked an awful lot like the claws of that crab. That was 3 weeks ago, looked fine ever since. I moved the fish to the my dt yesterday that has never had a fish in it. This morning one still looks perfect as always the other has spots in several locations. Is it ich just now showing up. I mean could it by that prolific in a new tank without a host or maybe I happened to move the fish the day it shows up really bad? Also how long do the spots show up after the parasite attaches?

Ich can take 30 days to manifest itself if you will in a system that had low levels of copper in it. If you didn't treat the clowns for ich with tank transfer method or some other way like chloroquine phosphate then it may be ich. Can you post some pictures

Can't get a decent picture of them. My iphone doesn't like the leds all that much. It looks much better now but it did move into a clean tank.

Another Question, can you actually see the parasite associated with ich. The qt tank I took these fish out of Saturday now has little white bugs all over the glass. They weren't there before look like specs of dust but they are moving.

Do the clowns sleep down close to the sand bed or stay higher up? Almost sounds like flukes by your description on post 5

Not relevant.

Just got to get a really good look at it again. There don't appear to be any spots on the fish now. Does that fit in with ich's lifecycle?

There was a lot of good info in there. I am new to fish guess I was asking more how long would the spots "normally" take to heal?
