Corals

1 medium frogspawn
1 small frag neon green Acropora

Plenty of softies mushrooms, Ricordias, Xenias, star polyps ,Zoas

Any advice on how I should sell it would also be appreciated.

Pretty much what I have noticed in my research of a used tank is this. Anything that is more than about 2 years old ends up selling from 1/3 to 12 the original new price. The market for 55 gallon reef tanks isnt that large just because of the tank dimensions....It is mostly the front to back measurement that turns people off with a 55. If its a cube or a high end tank with built in overflows I have seen them sell for as much as 75 to 80% of the new price. Thats just the tank though...the associated equipment is generall still half or less of the new price.

Thanks for the reply,

I have the standard 55g long, and planning to sell it with everything listed. How should I approach the pricing? Should I just take 1/2 off the value of tank, equipment and live stock?

Thanks again

I believe 1/2 off would be a good starting point if your willing to negotiate from there...you may get lucky especially if everything is mint and taken care of. people are often impressed with manuals and stuff if you still have any of that......

Looking at the list you may come out ahead piecing it out.....of course start with selling the fish and rocks....then again that could be tough if your equipment is all rated for a 55.....like I said earlier markets for 55s are slim....

Sounds like I would be better off ebaying every thing individually. I'm not expecting to get anything from selling the tank w/ stand but hopefully recouping on corals and equipment.

Boy, and I thought my car had a fast price depreciation.

Thanks guys.

I would try craigslisting the stuff individually. Then you dont have to deal with shipping stuff and paypall taking a cut. Also, try your local reef forum, Im sure people in your area would want some of the stuff.

We tore down our 150 gallon setup and went to a 90 gallon setup.. I bought the 90 gallon half full of rock, drilled holes for, pretty much a complete setup minus skimmer for $350.00. No fish or corals. We tried getting our money back on the 150 setup, but eventually ended up parting it out and made alot more than anyone was offering. That would be your best bet, I agree the 55 gallon market is not the best. I sold mine on Craiglist.
