Thats kind of hard to answer. Are you looking at SPS corals, softies, LSP, zoanthids? Do you have the right conditions for the corals (ie lighting, water quality, flow). Some corals take up very little room while others will sting and fight with any coral you put close to them. Basically if you plan correctly you can pack a 20g with corals and make a nice little reef tank.

There is no limit as long as they dont affect eachother by stinging or shading you can add as many as you want.

just kidding, exactly what lvpd186 said. You can have 1 coral or 100, it depends on a lot of things.

ok. thanks. my tank is pretty diverse. but i just have a hang on back filter an a couple of powerheads. also i have a few acans that are thriving, but just this one colony of acans are not doing so well. why do you think that one acan is dying? thanks guys

Ive seen tanks that were wall to wall coral. planning is everthing. ive had coral grow together and fight. I would suggest looking into getting a skimmer if u plan on keeping alot of coral. there worth every cent. dont quote me on this but i think acans from diffrent parts have diffrent needs.
