how much do black and white ocellaris go for at your LFS?

They were one of my first purchases over a yr and a half ago. I paid $65 for the pair (they were 3/4 - 1 inch at the time of purchase).

Thanks, Magellan. They are very photogenic and love being photographed. Taking photos of the tank sometimes gets a little difficult when you have 2 clowns trying to get in every shot lol.

I paid $90 for the 2 mis-bars.

It depends on the source. I haven't priced the ORA one that are out here, but the TR ones from Australia wholesale for $29, which translates into about $60 a piece retail.

from 25 for regular to 45 for mis-barred

Weird... It all depends on demand I guess. Here, the regular ones are MORE expensive than the mis-bar's.

$40 - Misbar
$50 - Regular

I have one mis-bar (Female) and one regular (male).
Got the mis-bar first, then about 6mo later I got the regular one. They paired up within a week. Still no Bow-chicka-bow-wow though. ;)

I have seen them go from $300 a pair in some stores (where snowflakes go for $1200 for a pair) to $38 a fish. It really does vary.

they cost about $15 from ORA wholesale. So I guess it just depends on how much profit your LFS wants to make. I'd expect 30-45 dollars apiece. If they are positively paired then I would expect double that but your store would have to sit on them for quite a while before they could guarantee a pair, read over a year. The further that you are from a major metro area, the more I would expect to pay.

They're sure pretty fish, but it's all about supply and demand. The pet store here has never had them that I know of. I imagine she'd charge a lot for them.

Nothing is too much if you are willing to pay it. If someone steals them from you, then you 'got ripped off' ;)

I just got a pair of Black and White Occ. for $45.

Upon closer inspection I believe them to be Australian's.

^?

black and whites are all oscellaris. which is found in large areas of the indo-pacific including australia

and i'm guessing whoever said regulars are $25 I'm sure you mean regular oscellaris, which is average retail

we sell B/W misbars for 35 at the store I work at, and $40 at the PETCO i also work at.
