How much do I feed clownfish pair?

I got my first fishes ever and lfs told me to feed once a day, LESS then a pinch of pellets. But I feel terrible because they are eat like they are starving.

but also I don't want to spike them with ammonium from the food waste.

General rule of thumb is no more food than they can completely consume in 2 minutes. Most feed two/three times per day.

Once is not enough IMO.

I must be a terrible person as I feed my fish a good helping of mixed mysis/krill/spirulina with a bit of nls mixed in every other day. Both fish are fat and healthy. Sometimes inbetween I might throw a pinch of nls pellets in. Robzilla is spot on though don't add more then they can eat in about 2 minutes.

Just like kids with soggy cereal, they tend to lose interest once it hits the bottom. Once they (and the tank) are established and eating well, once a day can be plenty. I try to feed once daily but sometimes skip a day, because there is plenty for the fish to pick at growing in the tank.

I feed once a day usually but skip 1-2 days a week. More natural IMO for fish to not have a super regimented feeding schedule

I feed a half cube a day to my 4 fish. Clown pair, flame hawkfish, and purple pseudochromis. They inhale it in about a minute. Ive found that a full cube is too much and notice some mysis and brine will get lost in/under rockwork. I alternate spirulina mysis, brine, and oyster feast

If food makes it to the bottom, it's too much.
I feed twice, at the same time of day, the fish got to know this so they are waiting for me at those times. They won't starve. I had a pair of clowns I only feed once every week or so I assume they picked at the rock as well

Awesome, thanks everyone for the advice! I've been feeding them once a day + a small snack at night, careful not to let to much food drop to the bottom. For some reason they don't eat any of the food on the floor... But my tank is newly cycled so there isn't much for them to scavenge that's why I give them a snack at night haha
