How much do you dose your SPS reef?

My 120 SPS tank is taking off and i am amazed at the amount of BRS Alk and Cai am needing to dose to keep up. currently adjusted to 220ml a day of each.
This seems like alot to me but its what it needs. My tank is just now starting to take off, its only gonna get worse from here!

How big is your established SPS system and how much do you dose?

I dont know what you consider established but i have a 93 and i dose 30ml a day of cal and alk with 40 sps.

I think you also should have added how many/big sps you have....

Mine is 90g, one years old and add 50ml. I only have frag for now, but I have one milli with good grow (1/2" per branch in about a month).
Can it be you mag that is not enough high?

Which recipe are you using, i.e. soda ash(sodium carbonate) or baking soda(sodium bicarbonate)? Recipe #1(2cups soda ash/2 1/2 cups cacl), is about twice the strength of recipe #2. If you're not getting any precipitation(white/tan crust on heaters/pumps), then you're load is pretty high, and that amount is feasible. I have a 180 mixed reef, and dose 150mL of each daily(recipe #1).

If I were dosing and not using my reactor I would have to dose 400+ or 800+ ml per day for my 156 display and 30b freag time which are on the same system. My alkalinity will drop over 2 dKH in a 24 hour period if not replenished.

The thing with 2 part is they are designed to level each other out. I'd bet some are dosing way more than needed and simply doing a smaller dose much more frequent may help stabilize and get better results with much less additive.

For example 4ml of Ca on odd hours and 4ml alk on even hours so every hour something is dosing. Thats double what I use on a 270g aprox system. Granted I have mostly smaller pieces, but lots of them.

Or that could be completely wrong and totally mis-guided. Lol :)
