How Much do You Think This Tang is Worth?

I currently have a vlamingi tang in my 180 gallon tank. I am very much attached to this gorgeous fish, and I realize that my tank is far too small for this fish, so I figured it'd be best if I eventually gave him/her away. So, my question to you is:
How much do you think my tang is worth? S/he is currently a good 9-11" in length.


....And yes, I run a FOWLR tank, but I think you reef people'd know the worth of this tang more so than the FOWLR people.

Absolutely beautiful specimen! You've done a great job, he/she looks quite happy Just to throw something out there I'd say 200-300€ Hope this helps!

LA had a 14 inch one a while back for like $400, I'd say that one is about $250+

the only problem with selling it is what is the demand for it at? I knew one guy was trying to give one away a few months ago and had no luck even with that. And shipping on that would be a pain.

I'd say he's at a perfect size for anyone with a large reef tank, I see them rather frequently in such tanks. Besides, my LFS has been wanting him/her for a while now. :spin3:

exactly, it's not as easy as people think to find homes for fish that outgrow their tanks. very few people have tanks large enough for a vlamingii tang. even if they do, they may want to grow a fish from juvenile to adult (like me).

your best bet is to look for restaurants/business sectors that have large tanks and need show-size fish.
