How much DT's?

I have 1-1.5" maxima, 2-2.5" crocea, and 1-3" derasa on the bottom of a 55-gal. tank under 260 watts of PC. How much DT phytoplankton should I add to the tank and how often? I tend to go along with the statement in Marine Invertebrates (Shimek) that clams under 4" need lots of phyto, but how much is "lots"?
Thanks!

at that size, feeding the clams something extra will help. i would start out dosing 1/4 of what the bottle recommends every day and see how it goes

the smaller clams under 3" will need a lot of phyto, you may need to put them in a bowl to feed them the amount of phyto they need, do a search and you'll come up with how much to put in the bowl while feeding them and all that

Nobodys taking the bait huh! Small clams on the bottom of a tank with minimal lighting! Better feed lots of phyto.

Yeah, that deep and under those lights, you should start pouring food in by the cup.

Seriously, that's not enough light, particularly for a crocea.

BTW - you don't need to feed clams in well-lit, well-established, well-stocked tanks - no matter how small they are. It's a fact.
