I am trying to calculate my flow.......and does anyone know how much flow a super skimmer 65 creates???

I have a MJ900, MJ1200, and the SS65?! I think i have somewhere around 72x with just the two PH's?! Is that right? My tank is a 29 gallon. Is that too much flow......it i am considering adding some easier maintenance corals later??

with both pumps and the skimmer, you're probably pushing about 20x turnover rate. Just out of curiousity, how did you figure 72x? I just gotta hear the math on this one. :D

total number of the GPH from all pumps divided by the number of tank gallons = turns
Did I say that right ...lol:p

what's the pump that's driving the Superskimmer? My guess is right now you have no more than 15X but we'd need to know which pump moves water through the skimmer into the tank before we can come to a conclusion on this.

total number of tank gallons divided by ,the total number of all PH's, pumps GPH added together = turn rate...

Hey....he's "JustADude" not "JustAMathWiz" :bum:

Travis-meister, that's why I just rounded up :D

Rusty has a good point, I don't count my skimmer pump when figuring out flowrate. AFter making appropriate skimmer adjustments and whatnot, I don'tget much flow at all, not enough to worry about anyways.

o wow....ok i thought 1200 and 900 were they equivalent GPH for each PH. lol.....whoops. my mistake.....so i have roughly 20X turnover then...NICE:) I am planning on adding one more PH later this week. What do u all think of the Hydors....and which one for my 29 gallon?? (#1,2,3, or 4?) i dont want to cause more heat problems......so im thinking a 1 or 2 koralia would be fine.

id add another 900 or 1200 and get a dj light timer wave maker.
"popular auction site" it for like 40 bux
also currentsea makes a good wave maker. again get it on that popular auction site

I agree , a good wave maker is awesome , if you do decide to add a wave maker stick with good PH's for sure and keep a few extra impellers on hand , I have been happy with the Red Sea wave maker

I went to that site and no one really quoted that great about the red sea....Ill look more into a wave maker and other companies..........thanks for all the help:) what is a dj light timer BTW Zestay??

I have two of them and have always been happy with the product, and it's settings.
it is recommended that you use MJ power heads on this unit because it turns them off and on al the time, this is what puts wear and tear on the impellers and after a few months, you'll hear a slight chattering noise from the impeller.
Now the only problem I had ever had was after I had my first one for a few months, one of the pump outlets stopped working , when I called RedSea they sent me a new one in the mail and let me keep the old one as well, and I have yet to have a problem with the new one.
