How much GPH & MH light for 35 gal?

I'm new to Nanos and don't know how much flow I should have in a 35g cube. I plan on a full SPS tank. I have left over from my 120g a:

Little Giant 1100gph @ 4'= 950gph
Mag 7 700gph @ 4'=480gph
Mag 3 350gph @ 4'=270gph

Which one to use? I don't want to buy another.

ALSO What light watt to go with. MH 70w or 150w
I really liked the color of 20,000k radiums.(not to blue, just right)

HQI or Mougel? does it really matter?
OR T-5
I only have 20" x20" to work with.
Thanks, Its good to be back in.

MH 150 phoenix14k seems to be a good choice, you going to run a closed loop or a sump or combination, you also have not mentioned what skimmer?

about are you dead set on you sump return for flow what about tunze nano streams two 6025s in a bare bottom all sps would rock i mean rock when i woke up this morning the polyp extension on my sps was out of controll tottaly i credit the nano stream completly before it i never saw anything like that the sps were more extended than anybodys tank ive ever ever seen.

as for light do they make radiums in 70w and 150 watt if they do thats the way to go if not how about the pheonix 14k peeps like those personally i think overdriven t-5s look awsome but with halide you know what your getting into

I was very impressed w/ my euro-reef in my old 120. thinking about going back w/ that or something very simmilar but smaller.

I saw in a Marine Depot mag. a 150w 20,000k radium I don't know if it was a misprint or what.

I'm building a larger sump so I'll be pumping up a little less than 4'.
I'm all for a closed loop also. Do I need it? If the return pump is strong enough?
I had around 2200gph total and 2 400w 20,000k's on the 120 and was sucessful w/SPS.
What is the color of the Phoenix 14k?
Thanks

I would stick with the Euro as the skimmer, mag 3 for return from sump, drill the tank for a 1" bulkhead drainand get 1 of the new Tunze Nano pumps for flow

Little Giant 1100gph @ 4'= 950gph
Mag 7 700gph @ 4'=480gph
Mag 3 350gph @ 4'=270gph

I would use all three if it was my main flow.

ALSO What light watt to go with. MH 70w or 150w

150 especially with a blue bulb. More blue= less par

HQI for the small space.

These are just my opinions on what I would use. Everyone has a different opinion on what they think would work best and we all tweak things along the way. I think you have a lot more research to do. These are pretty general questions and no one can answer you correctly because of all the variations that are possible. It took me over a week and hours of reading other posts and asking specific questions just to decide on what light system to use on my 47 extra tall tank. It has the same footprint as the 30 gal cube, only much taller. I learned a lot of things I never knew about lighting. Anyway keep us posted about what you decide to do.

My parents were just in Hilton head looking for property this past weekend.
I'm trying to keep the cost low key. I'm telling the wife "it's for the kids." :)

The more I think about it I had 2 400w over a 24" tall tank(120g)
I'll be only shy 4". Maybe if I decide to go w/ MH I'll do at least a 250w. what do you think?

Oh really? What were they looking for, vacant property? I have been here two years now and I love it. I actually live in Bluffton which is the town you drive through to get to Hilton Head.
I understand about keeping the cost down. My new tank is very low tech. It doesn't even have a sump. I am going to have to spend quite a bit on lights but that's always the expensive part.
I personally wouldn't put 250 watts over your tank. I think it's overkill and a waste of electricity. The only reason I went with 250 watts is because it was recommended by the experts mainly due to the 30" depth and the fact that some corals would be shadowed by others above it. Others will disagree though. I follow most of Anthony Calfo's ideas. Have you read his articles? They're very informative. PM me if you need the links. I would use a 150 DE on a 30 cube. Here's a good plug and go unit that's reasonably priced: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Product/Prod_Display.cfm?pcatid=13975&N=2004+113352
Since I have been recently shopping for something to light my tank which has the same footprint I had considered this one too. I decided on the Icecap pendant though in the 250 watt.

I like that fixture!
Yes , They are looking for a Vacation spot. They have a cabin at toxiway lake in N.C. now they want a beach place. There getting old. :) When will I have my turn?:D :)
Thanks for the info. Keep it coming.
