How much Interceptor to use?

Thankfully I don't have unwanted pest in my tank (knock on wood), but when I get new frags I'd like to treat with interceptor prior to adding to my tank. I currently have large dog tablets and will crush them up when needed. My holding tank for treatment is a 2.5 gallon tank. Do I use the whole crush up tablet or just a portion of it? TIA

Read the link, above, very carefully. A full tablet will treat 380 gallons, I believe. I sure wouldn't use a full tablet for 2.5 gallons. You'll need to crush it up and figure out a way to either weigh it out, or using a very small portioning device, determine a proper dosage.

If just treating the coarl individually, I wouldnt be concerned with overdosing...granite you would waste some of the pill if you use to much, but nothign bad will happen to the coral. I treated 5 corals at the same time in a bucket with less than a gallon of water. I used a salifert size scoop of inteceptor. Nothing bad happened to teh corals...and the bugs were killed off.

From what I've read, Interceptor is pretty mild on the corals. I just didn't want to waste the tablets. Thanks for your help. I'll try small doses and see what kind of results I get.
