How much LR for 10 gal.

Go with what looks best. Each type of rock weighs different, so it is hard to judge the right amount of rock for nanos. I have some rock that is so light you could never fit 10 pounds of it in a 10 gal tank.

8-10 #'s is good because you dont want much more as you will displace too much water. Add on that the sand you may only end up with 6-7gal of water!!

Depends on the rock. 10# of very porous rock and your tank won't have room for corals, 10# of some of the aquacultured rock and your tank will look empty. I'm not a fan of the box of rocks look so my tanks have roughly 1/3 of the tank with rockwork.

Where do you plan on getting the rock ?

For a small tank I prefer buying locally so I can pick out the rock.
