How much make up water!!

Can anyone give me an idea as to how much water is replaced a week on a 75 gallon due to evaporation. I am going to be adding Reef Advantage and Builder to my make up water and was trying to figure out what my yearly budget should be for these items. I know its going to be hard to due, but I would like to figure out the annual cost of running a Reef Aquarium. If there is already a thread for this I apologize and please point me in the right direction.

That depends on many factors (time of year, lighting, open or closed top, sump size, etc.) and is variable. You will have to figure it out for your tank and go from there. I have a 110g and go through about a gallon/day in the summer and around 1/2-3/4 during the winter.

In my 75 I evaporate roughly 6 gallons a week. During the summer months it's around 4-5 gallons. If you run halides you will probably evaporate more due to the added surface temp.

Every has a different evaporation rate due to different room conditions. Temp and tank placement will be some of the factors with it. Mine is 90 with 25 gallon sump for 115 at 10 gallon lost per week. You really have to wait and record it.

I'd have to say with my 55g w/ 30g sump/fuge I have about 5 gal evap rate a week. this is keeping my tank at about 78-80 F and having glass covers over the DT and 8x54W T5 Fixture

With a typical setup on an open top tank or a canopy with fans, you can probably expect roughly 1gal/day give or take. My 90g with dual 250w MH and 4 fans in the canopy evaporates on average about 10gal a week.

Too many variables ! I would fill it wait 24 hours record temp and then with a container fill it back up and messure what you add. I have a 120gallon tank but a total volume of 240 gallons all open so I get well over 2 gallons per day in the summer and 1.5 in the winter.

I do not have my tank started yet, thats why I asked. I am going to do my figures on a gallon a day. I figure this will be a good average to start with for a 75 gallon tank with a 30 gallon sump.

FYI -- I wouldn't put those 2 in the same make up water. From the little reading I have just done, it seems like those are dry 2 part -- which needs to be dosed separately.
