How much phyto for a 1.5 - 2" maxima

I just bought a small maxima about 1-2weeks ago and have a question about feeding it. I've been giving it DT's every other day and was bowl feeding until a few days ago. I add just enough DT's to tint the water very light green. When I was bowl feeding though I noticed what looked like little green fuzzies as the water would clear up a little. Am I putting too much phyto in and choking the clam or is this normal? I really don't put much in at all but since I'm a newbie to clams I'm a bit cautious. Any advise would be much appreciated.

I would keep bowl feeding until the clam is 3" in size. The amount of DT's you are using sounds fine.

Do you think there may be something wrong with the clam? I assume that the little green things are being spit out by the clam. Or is that something that's normal?

hello, i just bought my first t.max yesterday its about 2 in. i'm doing the same thing by bowl feeding. my question is how long should i keep it in the bowl? my clam also came sitting n a small cup filled with sand. i left him in the cup and put the whole thing in my tank at the very top. since i have 4x65 pc's will soon be 250 mh as soon as the hood is done. is it ok to keep him in the cup of sand till he is more than 3in and doesn't require being bowl fed. if not i think it is a good idea to have him like that makes it easier and less stressful ( not picking it up buy the shell) .
thanks,
chris

Hi Chris my maxima is doing fine on the sand bed at the bottom of the tank. I cover it with half a soda bottle and squirt phyto into it every other day. I also did the bowl method and would just pick the clam up and put it in. I stopped doing this per other peoples recommendation but it seemed fine when I did that. I would leave the clam in the bowl for about 20min or so, long enough for the water to clear up some.
