How much tds is acceptable?

I think most units have a prefilter before the carbon: here I'd mine:

Prefilter
Carbon block
Carbon block
Membrane
Then it goes to drinking water filter (not sure what that is) then to drinking water faucet
Or
Di canister for fish tank after membrane

My TDS reads consistently around 9-14. I quit using DI resin a year ago because I make about 80g of RO water per week and was going through a DI canister every 2-weeks. I'm on a well with pretty high TDS to begin with.

I personally would switch that out -- and you could use the current set up you have, just use the order that I listed above.

This is what my unit looks like, if yours is similar it should work;

The DI resin is on the right, the final stage, after the RO membrane

Where do you get that adapter to run the water right off the sink faucet like that?

Wish I could give you a better answer -- got them from an LFS about 10 years ago. They still have them, but Chicago is a bit of a hike ;)

sorry for late reply was out of town. I am going to add the di to the system. Also should i remove the first carbon block and use a pre filter? If so what sizt of micron should i get? It is a drinking water system. my town is very small kinda gotta make do with what i can get my hands on.lol

Zero tds or bust!!!!

Zero tds or bust!!!!

ZERO TDS is the only number I will accept on my reef...otherwise just asking for problem algae and God knows what else.....

DI resin must be on the RO unit that I use as final 4th stage also...

Good luck,

Tim

BRS sells this:

They also sell ones that fit inside a standard 10" canister in 1 or 5 micron sizes.
