Just trying to get an idea of how often everybody changes their filters on their RO/DI systems. I have been going by the manufacturer sugestions of every 6 months for the carbon block and sediment filter. The DI is color changing. Have not had to change the ro Membrane yet.

Thankx
Drew..

I would change out the filters between 6-8 months. If your carbon filter gets full it wont get all the chlorine before it hits the membrane and that will toast it quickly. If your membrane breaks down then your in trouble. This would likely take longer than 6-8 months to occur but better safe than sorry :P

I have the color changing DI also. I will change it color long before needing to replace it, I use a TDS meter as well to watch the impurities, when it goes from 000 to 001 I switch out the DI. The prefilters are inexpensive so they get swapt out when the DI does. If you dont have a TDS meter I recommend getting one. there about 25 bucks. I also run off of a well and I am not in the city to worry about chlorine or other stuff the city may put into the water.

I change mine every 6 months. My TDS does not change but I change them anyway. I purchased 6 sets with my RO unit and figure after 3 years I will buy another one. it was only 90.00
