how often do you feed your BTA?

You know, someone brought up in a similar thread that the clowns may not actually be "feeding" the anemone, but just bringing the food into the anemone to keep it safe so they can eat it later. I could certainly see this, since although my clown takes food into the anemone, it seems like she makes an effort to keep it from getting too close to the mouth, especially the larger pieces.

I personally think it's some of both. It's instinct, really. My GSM will eat some of what she's brought into the anemone, but the anemone also usually gets some of it too. It's win/win.

As for feeding my anemones, I personally don't worry about it that much, but try to feed them about once every 10 days. They have been healthy and growing and displaying nice colors for 8 mos now so I see no need to step up feedings drastically. They tend to get small quantities from the GSM almost daily anyway, in addition to general filter feeding and light.

How do you feed the cube to it with out it braking up?

I thaw the cube and then place it on the tentacles with some long tongs. I purchased my rbta two years ago from a breeder who recommended this. My rbta split right after a tank move, but both are about twice the size of the original and are thriving.

I agree completely. Also, my GSM is very protective of her anemones. She attacks me with a vengence if my hand goes near them; sometimes it makes for quite the surprise.

i fed mine half a silverside a day when first entered into the tank and it grew heaps . . . now i feed it little bits every other day . . . i was kinda hoping in the first week to get it settled but it is now 2 times the original size but no splitting :( hehehee oh well my cinnamons love it should i keep feeding it silversides or give it a cube . . . if i feed it a cube does it matter if its a brown or marine green cube???

"if i feed it a cube does it matter if its a brown or marine green cube???"

The frozen Formula 1 cubes I feed are for omnivores. I feed based on scientific studies I've read and my own observations while diving in the Red Sea. People have had great success feeding whole foods such as silversides, so who knows. Findingnemo feeds silversides. Also, read about Kevin Kuydendall's anemone tank which was tank of the month a while back. The creatures we keep in our tanks can be quite puzzling.
