Weekly and every time I put something in or test for something else. I also calibrate every use to make sure it's on :) I calibrate my PH meter every use as well. Temp is calibrated monthly.

I don't test very often. I actually tested on Saturday during a water change and found out that my sg was a little low @ 1.022, last time i checked about 3 months ago i was at 1.025. Oh well such is life.

Testing Salt

Testing Salt

I test Weekly, I have a 12 gal tank. I test before replacing the evaporated water & after. With small tank It is hard to keep the salinitly stable. Suggestions on how to set up a ATO for small tank.

Interesting..
Thanks folks for the input...

So the big question is should I go check my main tank for the first time since setting it up,
or just let it ride, like I have been?

To check or not to check; that is the question; what do you guys think?

If youve ever taken anywater out, for frags for other reefers etc. your gonna be low. Forgot to check one time after a significant frag off and was over 4pts low by the end of the week.

I check biweekly on average sometimes a lil sooner sometimes quite later. Depends on whats going on.

I check weekly as I do my Sunday water change but who knows if my swing arm tester is accuate. I really need to get my water tested at the club meeting so I can calibrate my hydrometer.

Steve: Check it. For the the tiny bit of trouble it would be, it would be good to know.

Karen: We gotta get you a refractometer!
