Take a water sample coming directly out of the phosban reactor and if it still reads 0 then you are good. Once mine started creaping up from 0 I changed out the media. You also have to play with the input pump to make sure that you aren't forcing the water in too fast and therefore not having enough contact time with the media. My first go round I had way too much flow and it seemed like it took forever for the phosban to remove the phosphate. So I dialed it down and within two days it cut my phosphate in half.
