how often to clean sump

i am new to the sump filtration. how long should you wait to clean it out. just everytime you clean your pumps and skimmer? some advice would be helpful

I clean mine when I think it looks too dirty and I'm feeling like cleaning a dirtyarse sump. Which is not very often
Usually something would have to motivate me like water parameters out of line of skimmer/return not working properly.

I usually clean mine every water change which is every other month. If you see detritus building up you should clean it then.

I have only given my sump a good cleaning once since I set it up 1 1/2 years ago.

I clean mine about every 2 months or so. When I see a build up on the bottom of the sump and feel like pulling my skimmer out.
