How often to feed an anemone?

How often do you feed your Anemone? I have a rose bubble tip & a green bubble tip and I spot feed them once a day with a mixture of Krill, Rods frozen food, mysis, & reef caviar. The only have I have right now is Diamond Back Goby, so the anemones don't get much "filter feed" but I plan to get more fish in the future. How often do you think an anemone should be spot fed when there is just my one diamond back goby and then how often should they be spot fed when I get more fish? Also, do you think that a clown fish hosting an anemone affects how often the anemone should be spot fed & if so how?

I very seldom feed mine, they should be getting everything they need from the light. If you read up on Anemones if they are splitting its usually a sign of stress and its trying to save itself. I have had mine for several years it was about 3-4" when I got it. Its now about 12-14" never split one time.

I really don't feed mine. My clowns sometimes do it for me but like said above they get all they need from the light.

I might feed once a year or two. I'm not sure it's always stress related for them to split. They could be happy and just want to keep expanding their species. And if they are stressed, they would usually move around a lot, end up spilling it's guts and rot. My 1 small bta from 2006 is now over 35 from splits. The biggest one is around 8-10", the smallest is around 2".

If anemones are kept under adequate lighting, assuming its healthy, it should not need feeding often. If your clownfish host in the anemone, they will sometimes bring the anemone food, while the anemone is also feeding on the clownfish detritus.

If you are going to feed as often as you say (daily) - feed small items such as small mysis, cyclopeeze, chopped raw table shrimp and some reefers feed freshh salmon sliced into tiny nuggets.

I would also advise to soak your frozen food in selcon or similar food soacks containing omega3 and omega6..

I have never fed my rbta and it has split at least 6 times since I have owned it. I alternate feeding my tank from the top via a turkey baster, one night mysis, one night new life sprectrum, one night rods food. They seem to be happy and perched at the highest point of my tank under my leds
