how often to goby's eat??!

My goby is kinda shy and hardly ever gets any food when I feed the tank. I bought a turkey baster thing or whatever so I could get food as close as possible to him. He will eat a couple flakes here and there, but will he ever aggressively go after flakes? I just dont want him to starve

My gobies mainly eat at night. In the last month I'd say I've seen mine half a dozen times at most. They have great hiding places and they just prefer not be around my Surgeonfish. They normally would eat three times day just like my other fish.
