How rare are 90 gallon with overflows

A 90 gallon (48 x 18 x 24) would be the absolute perfect size for me, yet, I have yet to see one in 2 years of this hobby, except for in pics or videos.

The tank size alone seems rare, let alone one with a overflow built in.

It's common. I'm currently running one. Shouldn't be too hard to find a new or used one. I'll keep an eye out for u if u want.

it's not rare, just hard to find a nice one for sale on CL. What about that one twenty? You probably will not find one for less then $350 on CL.

The 120, the guy called me a douche for no reason, I was super nice to him, he just hates me. He wouldn't go from 500 to 450 for just tank and stand. And now that we had a little word exchange he wont be selling it to me, though I may have a friend buy it.

probably dont want to hear it but there is one at petco in goodyear.. think they said it is going on clearance

No offence dude but he probably wasn't stoked about your offer. Let me convey a word of wisdom to ALL people who buy off CL, Zombie im not picking on you.... Because its CL, this does not mean you can offer whatever you want. I think people who buy off CL EXPECT for buyers to automatically come down in price. Lemme tell you, sometimes its NOT about the money, but the principle. People just don't like to be counter offered, after all it's not the swap meet, PLUS you're already getting a deal. Not trying to be a jerk, just being honest as someone who just sold their tank. I told several buyers that I would donate it before I went down $1.00!!!!

I'm gonna say this goes for meetings and trades too. I literally almost jumped out of my chair and strangled that kid at the last meeting for begging me to come down in price on a 50p frag of Tubs. I went from 80$ to 65$ to be NICE. What was the response???? "Well I will take them, just frag them up make my money back". Said right to my face, I was FLOORED especially after I said I had that colony for 3 years grown from one polyp. There's just some things you DO NOT say to other reefers. Honestly he is lucky he walked away before I grabbed my frag and threw the cash back in his face. This hobby is EXPENSIVE no way around it, be prepared to pay for it. Sorry but had to say it after last meeting lol. :bounce1:

Listen, I understand. And what the kid did and said was dumb. I get the principle. BUT...

All that was needed was a gentle and kind "No thanks I think my asking price is fair" and that's that. NO reason in the world to call me names etc. To be honest, I'd purchase the tank at his asking price after his denial, if he wasn't a flaming douche himself about things. It's a harmless, quick question, if the answer is no, that's fine. Just don't be a *****. It's not hard to treat others with some humanity. His tone since the very beginning was bothered and annoyed at the pure fact someone was even interested in his tank. Guys just an A$$ idc how you wanna phrase it.

That being said, i 101% agree with the points you made Helfrichs.

Zombie maybe u should have stuck out with ur 65gal starfire. By trying to find a replacement/ larger set up for sale ur just going to jump the gun so to speak n end up not 100% happy. My advice take things slow. Wait for what you really want to show up or suck it up and spend the money on brand new and get just what u want.

Just my 2 cents on this

Thanks for the advice myz :) I'd be MORE than happy with that beautiful 120. If it doesn't work out ill order a 90 from glass cages I think.

Or if your have your heart set on gettin 500$ out of a tank. You put 550$ on it to give yourself some wiggle room. That way If someone comes along and offers you 500$ its a win win. You get the price you wanted and he feels like he got a deal. Just my 2 cents. It's usually how I deal with cl.

Just giving my one cent, the guy with the tank john is a very nice guy. I bought a coralife protein skimmer off him. Had problems with it, he came to my house and fixed it for me. Not taking sides just dont seem right, hes not on here to give his side. (forgive me for cuting in zombie on your thread)

No that's the problem too, he seemed nice, on the phone, in person, etc. Then when my buddy calls and asks to buy the tank, he says "well i got some douche bag interested but other than him no one really"

I just don't understand why that was necessary. Not a big deal just weird.

I try to keep my mouth shut on things that are not my business but I hope to point something out to you so you can learn from it. We can all learn something everyday. In your post above you say "All that was needed was a gentle and kind. "No thanks I think my asking price is fair" and that's that. NO reason in the world to call me names etc". Then in the same post you start calling him names. People usually dont just up an call someone names that is looking at buying something they have for sale. I'm going to assume it was your approach. BTW I would also recommend you not try to avoid the censored words as doing so will get you booted from the site.

Okay, well it seems like everyone is defending this dude, it must have been some phantom personality trait I had. Somewhere between asking if he'd take 50 bucks off, and me saying I'd think about it after he said no must have really ****ed him off, my bad. And also, my opinion of him and my words towards him is purely responsive to what I've received, had I received different, my words would be different. He had no reason. But this is all sort of out of proportion lol, not really a big deal, just shared a story, now everyone seems to be sort of up in arms telling me I'm wrong, maybe I am, and alas I digress.
