I too have both. As previously stated, the candies are not quite as rare as they used to be. Must be a different collection source as they're also not the color combination they used to be either. Previously, they were a deep red with electric blue stripes. Now pink/yellow. Still, a pretty cryptic fish unless housed alone, then it can become quite extroverted.
The earlei wrasse actually look a lot like the candy bass which may be why I like them every bit as much. They're small, non aggressive, and very hardy. One of my females somehow got through my overflow, spent two days caught in my filter sock and came through completely unscathed. They've become like 'fish puppies' for me in that whenever I work in the tank, they're constantly swimming around and through my hands, even sometimes rubbing against them as if wanting to be petted. I'm sure they would eat from my hand.
But remember, as wrasse they're jumpers so if you try them, keep your tank covered. Really expensive jerky there.
