how rare are candy basslets and C earlei?

I have both of these fish. The Candy Basslet is one of my favorite fish. The bright coloration is awesome IMO. The Earlei Wrasse is also a beautiful fish. In my experience, both of these fish are very peaceful and very hardy. Diver's Den usually has the Candy Basslet available, and the Earlei Wrasse can also be found from time to time on their site.

I have a few Candies, and I can say that they are my favorite Liopropoma species by far.
Mine are always out and about, and rarely stay hidden. Much more personable than say, L. mowbrayi (Cave Basslet).

Both are somewhat rare in the hobby (ie - rarely collected), but not rare in the wild. Both come from depths which very few divers can and are willing to reach (sans the candies collected in Curacao with a sub). For a diver, it takes a re-breather and willingness to risk their life.

The candy basslet doesn't seem as rare as it nice was. I have noticed an increase of them in the Lfs's in my area. One brought in 6 and sold them all within a week and then brought in 4 more in their next shipment.

I too have both. As previously stated, the candies are not quite as rare as they used to be. Must be a different collection source as they're also not the color combination they used to be either. Previously, they were a deep red with electric blue stripes. Now pink/yellow. Still, a pretty cryptic fish unless housed alone, then it can become quite extroverted.

The earlei wrasse actually look a lot like the candy bass which may be why I like them every bit as much. They're small, non aggressive, and very hardy. One of my females somehow got through my overflow, spent two days caught in my filter sock and came through completely unscathed. They've become like 'fish puppies' for me in that whenever I work in the tank, they're constantly swimming around and through my hands, even sometimes rubbing against them as if wanting to be petted. I'm sure they would eat from my hand.
But remember, as wrasse they're jumpers so if you try them, keep your tank covered. Really expensive jerky there.

C earlei I haven't seen at all ... a Basslet is available ,,, I only fear that the current fairies I have and the longnose hawk may give it a hard time
