how smooth are Paly/zoo trades on the board?

i have things i'm thinking of trading, but since this isnt a local board there seems like there would be more risk... or am i just being overly cautious?

For the most part I have had good experiences. I did have one bad deal recently but I think it was UPS's fault. The totally destroyed the package I sent the guy. It was a major hassle getting everything worked out but all was well in the end. I've had some great experiences that far outweigh the not so great ones.

Just make sure you work out all the details beforehand. Make sure you guys are on the same page regarding who sends what when, what packaging will be used, what shipping service and delivery time, etc....

Finding this out beforehand will help. I had a trade this last summer, sent a guy who lives about 50 miles away from me some Yuma's via Ground. Got there fine, I shipped in a nice styrofoam cooler, etc... He sent back these candycane frags in a PAINT CAN (even though I told him 3 times I wanted the cooler mailed back).
Needless to say the paint can cooked the candycanes like an oven. I'm still mad about it, especially since all I wanted back was the cooler. I told him I'd be fine if he sent back the empty cooler and he never did.

Good luck.

Do yourself a favor and trade with people that have been on the board for a while.
Whenever I have traded with someone new, I always make them send first. Otherwise people with some time and a good reputation are usually trustworthy.
