How thick is your glass??

yeah, also what AGE does... I see it a lot though... I guess the theory is it would take a lot of force to shear it one way or the other....

thats me inside of an AGE tank... the infinity light fixture is the one I just got for my tank...

Really.. never would have thought to trust acrylic with glass bond for any sort of strength.

Ok got a quote back from Modern plastics, almost $150 to ship it to San Francisco, and another $50 on top of that for a residential address!? Geeze, I'm going to need to find this stuff locally for that kind of coin, that adds almost 60% to the cost just in shipping. I figure since it's so bulky there's no real way to ship it cheaply, in fact if I ordered a LOT shipping would even out most likely.

Yeah but I live in California, they still got the ban on drilling off the coasts :D

I'm sure I can get it locally, I checked Tap Plastics, it just was much more expensive than Modern Plastics.

well isnt that just silly, my sheet cost me 110 dollars for 1" 4'x4', my glass was 110 a sheet I should have gotten starphire but was happy to have just gotten it done.. the shop messed up on size like 3 times.

$110 for 1" of 4'x4'? Christ on a crutch I need to find another plastics place other than Tap, $60 for 2x4 @ 1/4" for the grey stuff ($90 for the white!)

yeah 110$ for 4'x4' grey pvc.... I would be careful the white is PVC ... it may be polypropylene "starboard" and I know you wont get anything to really stick to that...

Yeah, i was in the shop the other day looking at scraps to screw around with and see how they work (like if they'll explode if I go too fast with the router :D)... picked up a few pieces, apparently weren't PVC but HDPE... *sigh*.. I figure if this tank will be anything like my tank is now, there will be coraline all over the bottom, so reflecting more light back up doesn't matter much.

you dont want HDPE it is high density poly ethylene you will not get anything to stick to it, you have to polyweld that stuff together.
