Let's say that a pair of Clowns have laid eggs. What should the owner do from there to raise the fry? How can an owner prepare in advance in the event that his/her Clowns breed?
from successfully breeding of many Cichlids I can tell you step by step on successful ways to hatch, and raise the fry.
I need this information aplied to Clownfish.
Lastly, is it worth the effort, and cost to try to breed Clownfish? They are in my show tank, but I am considering giving them their own tank.
This will up my hobbie's cost which is already taxing my budget.
It was said that these cannot be bred by the average person.

..By buying Joyce Wilkerson's "Clownfish" book.. Its the bible of clown breeders in my opinion.. I suggest you buy a copy and read..it tells you everything to do..its hard to say it in a nutshell..so, id read it first. (I know it cover to cover)..but in order for you to really understand, get the book..

best,

A second vote for Wilkerson's book.

You will need to keep the fry in a separate tank and keep a culture or live rotifers to feed them.

Once the fish start spawning they will usually get on a regular schedule. So there is no reason to worry about the first nest. In fact early nests are usually smaller and less vigorous than later hatches.

The fry are fairly easy to catch from your display so don't worry about putting them in a special tank to lay their eggs.

yep willkersons book even shows you step by step how to make a fry catcher :) Now for some eggs.... I wouldent sell em, just be that crazy fish lady... like that cat lady only better!
