How to build refugium

Anyone have a good link on how to build a refugium? My under the stand dimensions of available space is about 12.5 wide x 35" long. I wanna get away from that damned tidepool 2.

Oh, by the way. Ignore the brass fitting in the picture. It's long gone. Noob mistake when I started.

Are you talking about a sump/fuge combo or just a refugium with no skimmer compartment.

Uh. I guess I must have my stuff confused. Right now you see what I have with the skimmer inside the sump. What would be a better setup for my reef. It's been this way for about 10 months or so.

Here are two different setups I have used:

For limited space, I like including everything. If I had a basement sump & fish room, I would seperate them out.

Refugium only... using a HOB skimmer

Sump & Fuge (Current Setup)

Both were constructed out of 30g long tanks.
