How to catch a dragonet?

I had a pair of ruby red dragonets, only to have them disappear after a couple weeks. After some detective work, I checked the overflow box and found them both alive and well. Now the hard part, how do I get them out? The standpipes make it very difficult for a net to be effective at all. Thanks for the help!

Drain some water out of the overflow to the point where water no longer seeps in and with the low water levels scoop them out

Put something on the overflow so it is dark inside. Then open the overflow a little bit and turn off the return pump. So they will come out by themselves.

Make a fish trap out of a small plastic water bottle by cutting off the top and turing it inside out.
