How to catch copepods

OK so I consolidated two tanks, a 75 gal and a 36 gal into one 180 reef tank,

Im trying to salvage what I can from the other tanks, sand was rinsed and transferred along with all live rocks. I still have half the water remaining in old tanks with some sand and gravel and a lot of copepods running around. Short of going crazy trying to net what I can ( yeah tried that got some :fun2: ) is there a way to trap them? Id hate to lose valuable reef mates!

Not sure about your setup, but if I want to remove as many as I could, easily, I setup a small spot light on one side(to attact motile phyto and zooplankton). Under the light place a piece of large tupperware filled with polyfiber. Leave for 12 hours. This will concentrate food and hiding places in one easily removed area, thus copepods should concentrate there too, in theory. Have fun.

That is pretty genius actually. I'm gonna steal that idea for my tank *yoink*
