How to catch damsel fish!? Help

this what i hate about people's thinking...that is sooo cruel to the lion fish and the damsels...YOU bought them its not their fault! You cant just end their life cuz you no longer want them!
it just makes me sad to see any animal get treated this way....:'(

Takes a while, but you can start feeding in your net...if they want to eat, they go in (or real close to) the net...they kind of get used to it that way....worked for me once... (just once in many tries)

I am in the same boat as OP here trying to catch a three stripe damsel myself. He is scared of my DIY fish trap so that failed. It worked on a sergent major damsel who eats anything food wise I put in my tank before the other damsel knew what was going on. I am going to be using the tank drain method my self here in the near future. I don't have the aggressive problem with this guy(except towards shrimp... hated my peppermints when I added them) he got ick so he is being taken out. Only fish to catch.

Just removed a coral beauty. DIY bottle trap didn't work. Hook and line didn't work since fish is a juvi and size 22 trout hook is too big. Ended up draining the tank (40 breeder). Took less than 1 hour and probably least stressful to the fish. If your fish is big enough the hook and line is probably easier. Go to a fly fishing shop and get a size 22 hook and some 2 lbs test line. Make sure you crimp down the barb on the hook.
