I have a beautyfull 150 gallon Tenecor acrylic tank and I really don't want it to get scratched from cleaning. What do the rest of you do that have acrylic tanks when it comes to cleaning? I currently use a Algae Free Hammerhead Float Cleaning Magnet

with the acrylic safe pads on it but there still seems to be small scratches accumulating at time goes on.

Anyone have some advise?

And they will. Little scratches are inevitable.

Get a good micromesh kit. There are also magnetic kits that you can run and buff out scratches every so often:)

But I use a tigershark I think, magnet cleaner, a couple kent acrylic scrapers and then some acrylic pieces I made for scraping coraline.

Many nice acrylic tank keeps obviosuly tryo to keep scratches out. What they don't tell you is that a couple times a year, they donate time to buffing them out. steve weast and oregonreef.com come to mind.

So what is the best to buff the scratches out? I got some scratch remover with the tank from tenecor but never opened th packages yet. I was saving them until it got to the point where I really needed them.

I like the micomesh for when it's full. When it's empty or on the outside, I just use wet/dry sandpaper up to 2000 grit and then buff by hand with novus #2 scratch remover.
