Hi everybody, I have Coralife Super Skimmer Needle Wheel Protein Skimmer for a year now and it's almost do not work, the color of the glass is yellow and I cann't get inside to clean it.

What can I do?

Thanks.

i'm sorry i did not get it.. you mean fill the skimmer with 1/3 of vinigar and 2/3 of water? and let it stay there for 24 hours?

and then shake it ?

put it in the sink or tub with vinegar and water mix and let it run for a while til it is clean. Then you can get a long brush and scrape off what is left.

the body being dirty wont hinder performance as much as the pump being dirty.. run the pump in the vinegar water for 24 hours. that should work well...

i'll try today.. and let you know tommorow.
so 1/3 vinigar and 2/3 tap water.

thank you. this is a very big problem for me, i cann't get rid off the tyni green stuff wich sticks to the glass of the tank for 3 month now, and i tried everything, (bought UV, RO/DI) and no effect, so I think this is my skimmer

sorry...im going to have to say it....get a better skimmer

either that, or just upgrade the pump...

has anyone tried mesh on one of these skimmers?

clayton07 - that is what I figured so far. And if cleaning is not going to help I will buy Euro-Reefâ"žÂ¢ RS-80, or shoud I but RS-100?

thanks

for that same 300, there are alot of skimmers that will outperform the euroreef. tunze, octo, and d.a.s. the d.a.s. ex1 is $259, rated for 125gal, and will easily outperform the rs100..
