I've had a blackcap basslet in my 20gal QT for about a week. All he's done is hide inside the pvc, I've barely seen him. I added a foxface to the same tank yesterday.
Now the blackcap is being territorial and keeping the foxface pinned to a small piece of live rock I have in the QT tank. Blackcap doesn't even dive into the pvc when I come in the room, just sits two inches from the cowering foxface staring at him.
Am I ok to divide the tank into two sections? If so what material would work well for this to allow flow through but not the little basslet.
Or will these two guys sort this out on their own? The foxface is tripple the size of the basslet, but so far is on the defensive.
