Thanks for the great step by step.. I sucessfully drilled my 29g last night for a 2" bulkhead, and it was a snap. I used a rotozip tile cutting bit on my dremel and it seemed to just melt through the glass like butter.

Thanks again for taking the time to outline it.

mille239,

Which Rotozip Tile Cutting bit and how many did you go through for the whole project.

tks

Ok, now it's the posters turn to ask a question. Could someone post a pic or a part number for the rotozip tile cutting bit?
I went to the hardware store and the one tile cutting bit they had did not look like it would work well with glass.

The bit is the tile cutting bit by rotozip.. comes in a green and white package and it's part number is TC1 (for a single bit, or TC10) for a 10 pack...

here is what it looks like

hope this helps and happy cutting!

Yeah thats the one i saw. Man i would fear plunging that into glass though. Maybe i will go out and give it a try on a 10 gal when petsmart has them for 7 bucks again. Maybe a fuge or something.

Becareful with the 10 gallon, the thicker the glass the easier it is. The thin glass is very easy to break.
