How to eliminate star polyps on sps

I have a colony of sps and I have these green star polyps that have started growing on the colony. It seems that they are winning the battle. Could I use aiptasia remover? Any suggestions. I am unable to remove the rock. It is at the bottom with many rocks and mother colonies growing above.

I would cut the sps a little up from where it is getting choked out. Then I would eradicate the GSP by peeling it off the rock with razor blade, finger nail etc. Make sure you get rid of it all. Then glue the sps back down in its position. Hopefully you don't loose the colony. You may want to make a frag of it before you start the process.
