how to frag zoas/paly

they can survuve for quite a while out of water. I usually shake them to get them to close up before i remove them from the tank and have had zoas out for up to a half hour while fragging. (well on a damp surface)

if i want to have them glued on my live rock, can i gently cut them off a frag with a knife out of the water and use super gel them to the rocks?
