How to get better skim on 9002?

I have two 9002's, one which I am planning to send to Roger for more testing soon. They both perform the same (one has heat issues, but manageable with a fan), but only skim to about 100ml and stop.

So there are a few issues:

1. Very wet wet skimmate. If I turn down the air, I get no skimmate. I've also tried different heights in the water, though probably not the extreme of having it sit REALLY high out of the water. The water is a tad brown. Don't get me wrong, there's stuff that's skimmed, but man it's pretty light
2. Only works for 2 days after cleaning. Then I don't get any more skim. Does anyone else have this problem? It seems to skim really well for the first two days, then the bubbles stop popping over the top. I get about 100ml in two days.

Any tips?

Normally this issue is a fault of the venturi, it could be bad or the airline is not properly inserted. The skimmer may also need to be raised a bit.

strange how they both act the same way. I've raised the skimmers as high as possible before for a couple weeks, with similar results / no change.

I've also checked the venturi, and they both seem fine. it seems to skim fine for a couple days (very wet) and then the bubbles no longer travel all the way up. maybe because of the crud that builds up?

This is true, the build up does stop skimming to some extent that even happens on the bigger models. But the skimmate should not be so wattery. Please send me the one and I can get a better understanding of the problem and likely offer a solution for both units.
