How to get hood off Aquapod 24g tank?

I was trying to mod the fan and lights but I can't seem to get the hood off. According to the instruction it just said lift the hood upward 90 degrees and slide it out and I tried to but it just wouldn't come off. I was afraid to break the hood or worst crack the glass. Is there a clip to push or something?

Have the hood in an open position, and pull it out of one bracket at a time. The first one will be difficult, the second will be easy because you can sort of twist it out. Some of the brackets are not glued onto the tank very well. It's these loose brackets that are prone to breaking. If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, get a helper to hold the bracket and tank while you pull off the hood.

Needless to say, this isn't something you should do often. If you do it carefully, you'll be fine.
