how to get rid of?

I just recently opened the cover on my biocube and noticed sort of sludge film on the surface. Does anyone know what causes this and how to get rid of and prevent in the future?

I have the flow pump that came with it and also a small one that i bought rated at 250gph. I am thinking of adding more.

Surface agitation. Point the return nozzle slightly up. Or add the other pump higher in the tank to creat ripples, little waves.

Thats why i wanted to add a second pump so i can point to the surface of the water

Yup need to be breaking up the waters surface, saw a biocube the other day with the same problem. Oily looking film on top of the water.

I pointed the return nozzle as well as my pump upwards and it worked now it even looks more bright. :thumbsup:
