How much skimmate are you pulling out a day with the G3, skimming wet?

I empty it every 2-3 days full cup. Yes skimming wet

I think if your dealing with a mature tank with plenty of live rock, your tank will only go into a really short cycle caused by stirring everything up.

I like the above idea about removing as much water as possible then sucking everything out

Also remember to seal around the edges of your starboard, you don't want anything to get under there. You'll never get it out.

Do you HAVE to seal the edges? I was hoping I would not.

I'd like to mention also that you have to be very aware of nitrates in a BB tank so expect to take measures to reduce nitrates like a remote DSB... but what do I know b/c I am running a DSB riight now.

I like how sand looks and all but it seems like such a mess.
