How to introduce tangs?

Hi guys getting my 300g next thursday just had some questions:
First off I have a box of instant ocean for 300g but it's been sitting outside (covered pretty well though) for about a year or two max is it safe to use still? No problem if it's not I can get a new box just wondering so it won't be wasted. Now for the stocking. My ideal list would be 3 blue tangs, 3 yellow tangs, 1 blonde naso tang, 1 unicorn tang, 2 coral Catsharks. This is where I'm having problems, with the tangs obviously. I tried to pick tangs that don't have similar body shapes aside from the naso and unicorn. Could someone tell me if my plans on adding them would work: first the 3 blue tangs then the 3 yellow tangs then at the same time unicorn and naso tang. Then this leads me to my next question Do tangs pick on smaller fish? The wholesaler I'm getting the Catsharks from will be around 4"-9" and I'd like to add the Catsharks in after all the tangs are in. Tangs (that I've personally kept also) always seem peacefull with other exeption to other tangs. You'd think there be a problem?
Thanks guys

My desjardini tang always picked on my shark and stingray when I had them. I no longer have any of those fish but the tang was relentless. Even when the ray would dig under the sand, the tang would start biting the eyes sticking out. The rest of my tangs were fine which included a yellow, purple, naso, and blue hippo.

Thanks for your input so I should be fine? I see on your list you didn't have unicorn tangs. Any input on them? So your saying I can add all my tangs first then add my sharks about 4"-9" last after about a couple months and will be fine, correct?

yes, you will be fine. Naso tangs including unicorn tangs get huge but are pretty gentle with other kinds of fish.

With a tank that size things will normally work themselves out regards mixing tangs. If you can get all of the tangs at a smallish size, they will tend to adapt to each other better. And ideally (from an agression standpoint) they would be added at the same time. But that brings up another point....how are you cycling or breaking in the tank?

Thanks a whole bunch

definitely will be adding them at small sizes around 2"-6" at the biggest. The plan for the cycle is to let it do it's own thing for about 2-3weeks start adding some snails, and filefish or athenias (leaning tword athenias), cleaner shrimp and peppermint shrimp slowly over a course of a month. Then add the tangs after about 2-3weeks seeing if the inverts and fish are doing fine and watching the params closely. Then after about 2months add the sharks. So if I add all the tangs at the same time at small sizes my params won't go out of whack right? I'd assume not becuase they would be so small at the time in a large volume of water not really affecting anything.

And is the instant ocean I have a no go or is it still safe?

about the salt. If it got wet and is very solid, I would be afraid some chemicals may have bonded together and won't further dissolve. this is why we add salt to water and not water to salt. If its still soft I would use it.

In the box they are in plastic bags that are air tight I don't think any water could have gotten in. to be safe I'll take them out and feel it like you reccomend ,thanks.

Zshark: I'm gonna say that I have never owned a tang so I can not comment on that issue but it looks like others have answered those questions already. I agree with moogoomoogoo on the salt issue. If the air tight seal is broken on any of the bags I would not risk using that particular bag. Reason being the water solidified issue and who knows what actually could have gotten mixed in with the salt.
