How to keep agreen sarcophyton happy?

I have this coral for over three months, and only once in a while it opens up. Rest of the time it shades for long periods and almost seems to be dead.
rest of the corals look great., so what makes it unhappy?..?

I know when you move them they tend to not open up for a while but yours seems like its in same place.

moderate light high flow is where all my leathers are.. also what other corals are in the vacinity

Mine loves a lot of light and moderately high alternating flow. Too much flow it will close up. Too little and it will also close up if detritus gets on the disk.

What's the dark stuff on it?

Maybe re-check parameters and calibrate your refractometer.

Looks good when its open though.
Mine only retracts polyps at night.

High light, medium flow, otherwise I don't know.

I've never had mine shed anything before,although I hear that alot.

my toadstool did that after i got it. it opened up the first few days then it closed up and shed it skin for awhile. then it opened for about a week then it closed up and shed again. it has been a few months now and it opens up real nice every day.
