How to kill a mushroom?

My green striped mushrooms are spreading too fast, and some have started growing in between the branches of a very large purple tipped acro... They're causing damage to the acro where they are touching it. About 4 or 5 shrooms need to go...

How do I get rid of them? Tried squirting them with some Joe's Juice, but that didn't seem to do any good.

Any ideas? I can't easily get at their base to remove them completely...

Kalk paste right in the pie hole!

I'll be doing many in the next few days. I've had good luck in the past doing this. Just can't do very many as kalk with throw your param's out of whack.

I can't really get at them to frag 'em... They are within the branches of a relatively tight growing acro... I'll give JR's idea a shot

I use an aluminum grip device and a dropper. mix up some kalkwasser powder and some tank water to make a paste that'll despense 5 to 7 drops (one for each mushroom) I wouldn't put much more than that in a 100 gallon tank. You might consider Kalking your shrooms just before you perform a water change.

Yeah, mushrooms and SPS sure don't mix do they? I had to take my rocks that were heavily covered and scrape the mushroos off as best as I could with an xacto knife. The moved the rocks so they the mushrooms were either buried in the sand or under other rocks.

I don't think they release any bad toxins? I had one float into an impeller and spray around the tank once and it didn't seem to do any harm...

Hoping I don't have to go to the extreme measure Mike did... the most covered rock is one of my foundation rocks... would require removing a large portion of the corals and rockwork...

I'll attempt to remove some and give them to the couple people who are interested, but like I said, they are going to be very difficult or impossible to remove, and I'm not willing to damage the acro (any more than it is) to do it... Would far rather just kill them with Kalk as suggested.

Hmm... I'd better be more careful. I've sliced up many mushrooms, propogated huge sarco's into dozens of frags in-tank and peeled/cut/sliced and ripped GSPs countless times. Never had any problems though... I must have friendly ones ;)
