how to maintain alkalinity and magnesium?

We all dont live near the ocean so we need to dose what's needed.

or as naturally as possible i should say. i know there are a TON of additives.............so which ones are the best/more natural

...like using limewater and such.

limewater is good. But i like baking soda and calcium chloride with the occasional use of magnesium chloride in my fish only system.

Best for reef with calcifying organisms is limewater or a calcium reactor using Co2 to dissolve CaCo2 media. Some people need both.
