How to manually remove or move a GBTA?

Any recommendations on how to move a GBTA? Mine has been in my tank for about 8 months and has anchored on a 15 pound piece of rock within a hole, it's beautiful and my GSM loves it. It's on the right most side of my tank and I've been placing my sps corals on the left side of the tank.

I was thinking of waiting till he shriveled up, does that every now and then, I could plug a rock on top of the hole and hope it attaches...

Thoughts?

When the foot is in a hole in a rock it can be pretty tough to get it loose. A lot of people talk about using a finger nail of credit card to gently peel it off. This might not be possible in your situation if the anemone is too deep in the hole. Some recomend ice. I tried this and it didn't work for me. I even made RO/DI popsicles and melted a whole tray against the foot and it didn't move at all. The popsicles were nice since I was able to hold onto the plastic stick part and they were bigger than ice cubes. The best way I have found is the power head method. Aim the power head at the anemones foot and hopefully one side of the foot will lift a little. Then keep the water stream on the part that is starting to lift till it comes off. Something long skinny and rounded might help to try and peel it up a little too. Examples are plastic spoons or knives and pen caps. Sometimes if you work on it for a while and come back 30 min later it will be easier. Others put a rock over it or block the light to try and make it walk. When they are walking the grip isn't as good and they come off easily. The foot seems to be swollen up a little at the base when it is moving. Good luck and take your time so you don't hurt it. If you do tear the foot a little I would leave it alone and try again in a few weeks to let it heal.
