How To Move Mushroom Corals?

I am buying mushrooms from a friends tank. It is a very established tank and I want to know how to transfer the mushroom. It is on a large rock in his tank, if we pull them off his rock, will they be able to reattach to the rock in my tank?

i always cut as close to the rock as possible, you will get it's "guts" coming out. then i use bridle vale and hold it down with rubber bands until it heals. thats the best i can say, good luck.
